Ah Dads. The great providers of DIY help/emergency loans/sage advice/stupid jokes. Whatever the Dad in your life means to you, Father's Day is your chance to say a big 'Thank You' in the company of the family who love him.
But it isn't always easy to find the perfect venue. With the range of differing tastes, budgets and personalities in your average family, what's meant to be a celebration can often turn into a bit of a stress-fest.
All you want is a place where the food is high quality, the atmosphere is friendly, the surroundings are stylish and the bill isn't astronomical. Is that too much to ask?
Well, actually, no. At Mint Hotel City Café, that's exactly what you'll get with this Father's Day offer of three courses for £10 for Leeds Confidential Readers.
Mint Hotel's Father's Day Menu is one all the family can enjoy.
The City Café at Mint Hotel, presided over by Head Head Chef Leah Jenson, offers
modern European cuisine that saw the restaurant awarded a AA rosette in 2009/201. (That should please foodie Auntie June).
You and your family can dine on the inviting terrace overlooking the canal, or step inside to discover the welcoming, spacious, softly-styled surroundings of the restaurant. (Should keep your décor-conscious mum happy)
The menu includes cold buffet salad starters which you can revisit as often as you like (ideal for your bottomless pit of a brother), a choice of mains include Studded Shoulder of Lamb and the traditional Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding (your granddad will heartily approve) or the lighter option of a Steamed Lemon Sole (isn't your sister in law on that diet again?)
There's a kids menu which include Soup, Fish Fingers and Banana Splits (and when has a Banana Split not kept a child quiet for at least five minutes?) and children can also choose half portions from the main menu (so even the seven--going-on -seventeen year old won't throw a tantrum.)
With this Leeds Confidential offer you'll get three courses for £10, that's a saving of £5.95 per person, plus kids under eight eat half price and under fives eat for free (so that's all the family sorted!)
And what about Dad? With his family happy, delicious food in front of him and the knowledge that there's money being saved, you're Dad will have a wonderful time. And there's even a complimentary goodie bag just for him, containing beer and cashew nuts, so that your Pop will knows how extra special he really is.
Make your Father's Day.
