A SUNNY start to the weekend’s Leeds Loves Food festival attracted gastrofans from across the city to watch top chefs like Jean Christophe Novelli at work.
The flamboyant Frenchman shared his culinary tips as of one of the world’s best chefs with a packed crowd in the Merrion Centre.
But the main draw was more than 100 stalls, featuring the best of Yorkshire and international foods in Millennium Square. Most of the city’s top bars and restaurants have taken a pitch, reflecting the huge diversity of food and drink on offer locally.
Food lovers thronged the outdoor dining area sampling reasonably priced takeaways from Whitby to Thailand, and all points in between.
Other attractions include free food demonstrations on the main stage and many of the stalls offering free samples of their wares.
Leeds Love Food runs until Sunday evening and for further details on the festivities go to www.leedslovesfood.com.
