THE launch of Leeds Loves Food took place in The Light last week ahead of this weekends three-day foodie festival.
Students from Leeds City College braved the torrential rain to finish an outdoor logo made of fresh produce, while indoors, others displayed portraits of famous TV chefs made from sweets.
Kenin O'Hare, head of art at the college, aaid 16 students had taken two weeks to complete the portraits, which used thousands of sweets.
"We went to a sweet shop in Bradford to get everything, which was an intersting field trip," he said. "We found that marshmallows are very adhesive if you cut them in half. And sweets are sugary so they preserve for ages."
Leeds Loves Food starts on Friday July 1 until Monday July 3. You can find details here.
