Low fat curry - good thing or bad thing?

New Bradford restaurant goes slimline

Low fat curry - good thing or bad thing?

A new restaurant in Bradford is dropping the oil and using water to cook curry with instead.

Businessman Faz Rehman, who's opening the Jumerah restaurant, thinks curry can be healthy and claims he can cut the average number of calories in a dish in half.

"You can still have the same taste," he said. His chefs are learning to cook with a jug of water instead of oil.

We're not sure if we believe him, so we'll be over to review his new generation jalfrezi soon enough.

Rehman suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes, which forced him to change his cooking and lifestyle.

Of course, no curry is particularly healthy, so it has to be part of a balanced diet. A proper curry needs ghee, which is massively unhealthy, but totally delicious.

We'll be sticking to the oil, but making sure we don't eat curry more than once a week and going out for the odd jog here and there.
